Comparing London Borough Council Tax Rates 2013/2014

Posted by on May 28, 2013 in Modern Life | 5 Comments

A few years ago, as we were looking to move within London, I put together a blog post comparing London borough council tax rates (2010/2011). That post proved fairly helpful to others in the same situation and, as I’ve had a few requests to update it, I though it was time to do a follow up.

So here are the figures for 2013/2014, including GLA components, but excluding supplementary payments for preservation areas etc. as these only impact a few residences within specified areas of a borough.

I hope you find it useful.

Are there any statistics adjusting for the average house/flat price in each borough? For example, statistics showing the average council tax payable per household (before/after adjustment for single person occupancy etc)? At the moment, boroughs like Kensington & Chelsea can claim to have a relatively low council tax simply because so many of its properties are in Band H!

      Hi Paul,

Not that I’m aware of off the top of my head, it sounds like you’re looking for a “total cost of living” type comparator – let us know if you find something that helped.
